Working together
What happens in a first conversation?
We talk about your family, your work, what you already have in place and what's on your mind. You don't need to prepare anything or make any decisions.
By the end, you'll have a clearer picture of where you stand and what's worth looking at first. If it makes sense to keep working together, I'll explain the next steps and what they involve.
Is there a cost for a consultation?
I'll always explain how I'm paid before you make any decision, so there are no surprises.
[CONTENT / CREDENTIAL REQUIRES CLIENT CONFIRMATION] Confirm whether the first consultation is free / any fees or how Rahul is compensated. Can we meet in Gujarati or Hindi?
Yes. Many clients find it easier to talk about family and money in the language they speak at home. We can also switch between languages, and include parents or other family members in the conversation.

No. We can talk by phone or video call, which works well for busy families and for clients outside my area.

Nothing is required for a first conversation. If you'd like to, it can help to have a rough idea of your monthly expenses and any coverage you have through work. Please don't email sensitive documents — if any are needed later, I'll explain how to share them securely.
Insurance
I have life insurance through work. Is that enough?
It's a good start, but group coverage is often a multiple of salary that may not match what your family would need, and it usually ends if you leave the job. It's worth reviewing what you have and comparing it with what your family actually relies on.
What's the difference between term and permanent life insurance?
Term insurance covers you for a set period — for example 10, 20 or 30 years — and is usually the more affordable way to cover years when your family depends on you most. Permanent insurance lasts your whole life and can build cash value, and it costs more.
Neither is better in general. The right choice depends on what you're protecting and for how long.
Can I get life insurance if I'm new to Canada?
Often, yes. Insurers look at things like your immigration status, how long you've been in Canada and your health. Each insurer has different rules, so it helps to check eligibility before applying.
Do you work with one insurance company?
I'll explain which companies I can offer and why I'm recommending a particular option for you.

Do I need a lot of money to start investing?
No. Regular contributions, even modest ones, add up over time. The important part is knowing what you're saving for and choosing accounts and investments that suit that goal.
Should I use a TFSA or an RRSP?
It depends on your income now, what you expect it to be in retirement, and what you're saving for. Many people use both. I'll walk you through the trade-offs for your situation — the Insights section also has a plain-language overview.
Can you guarantee a return?
No. Investments that can grow can also fall in value, and anyone promising otherwise should make you cautious. What I can do is help you understand the risks, costs and trade-offs before you invest.

A relaxed first conversation about where you are and where you'd like to be. Bring your questions — and your family, if you like.
